• Mechanism of Action:
  • Atorvastatin: A lipid-lowering medication (statin) that reduces the production of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the liver while raising “good” cholesterol (HDL).
  • Aspirin and Clopidogrel: Both are antiplatelet agents (blood thinners) that work together to prevent platelets from sticking together and forming harmful blood clots in the arteries.
• Administration: The capsule should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed. It is typically taken once daily, often with food to avoid stomach upset, at the same time each day to maintain consistent effectiveness.
• Important Lifestyle Considerations: To maximize the effectiveness of the medication, it should be part of a comprehensive treatment program that includes a healthy, low-fat diet, regular exercise, and not smoking. 

• Bleeding Risk: The most common and significant side effect is an increased tendency to bleed, including nosebleeds, bruising, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Caution is advised when shaving, cutting nails, or using sharp objects.
• Other Side Effects:
  • Abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, and diarrhea.
  • Headache and dizziness.
  • Muscle pain or weakness; report any unusual muscle symptoms (especially with fever or dark urine) to your doctor immediately, as it could indicate a serious condition like rhabdomyolysis.
