Cipladine Ointment is a powerful, broad-spectrum antiseptic containing povidone-iodine (5% w/w) as its active ingredient. It is primarily used to treat and prevent infections in minor wounds, cuts, burns, and abrasions by killing harmful microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, and viruses.

• Wound Care: Helps prevent and treat infections in minor cuts, scrapes, and abrasions.
• Minor Burns: Effective for preventing infections in superficial burns.
• Skin Infections: Manages various skin infections, including athlete’s foot, ringworm, impetigo, and folliculitis.
• Surgical Disinfection: Used to disinfect the skin before and after surgical procedures to reduce the risk of infection in surgical wounds.
• Promotes Healing: By maintaining a clean, microbe-free environment, it supports the natural healing process. 

• External Use Only: The ointment is meant for topical application only; avoid contact with eyes, nose, or mouth.
• Application: Clean and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the ointment. It may be covered with a sterile bandage if necessary.
• Thyroid Issues: Use with caution if you have thyroid problems or are on lithium therapy, as excessive iodine absorption can affect thyroid function with prolonged use over large areas.
• Allergies: Do not use if you are allergic to povidone-iodine or any other ingredients.
• Staining: The golden-brown color of the ointment can stain skin and clothes, but skin stains are temporary and clothing stains can be washed out with soap and water.
• Deep Wounds: Do not apply to deep puncture wounds or severe burns without consulting a doctor.
