Its long-acting nature offers consistent, all-day blood sugar control with a single daily injection, which can improve adherence to treatment. 

Lantus U100 SoloStar is given as a subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Injection sites should be rotated within the chosen area to prevent skin issues. Do not dilute or mix it with other insulins or solutions. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) is a common side effect; carry a fast-acting sugar source to treat symptoms. Do not stop using it without your doctor’s advice. Avoid alcohol, as it increases the risk of low blood sugar. Be cautious when driving or operating machinery, as blood sugar fluctuations can affect concentration and reaction time. 

Mild and temporary side effects may occur as your body adjusts. These can include hypoglycemia, injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling, itching), weight gain, allergic reactions, and swelling.
