Regestrone Tablet is a prescription medication containing norethisterone, a synthetic progestin hormone, used to treat various menstrual and gynaecological disorders such as heavy, painful, or irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and endometriosis. 

Regestrone mimics natural progesterone to regulate the menstrual cycle and manage related symptoms. It is used for menstrual cycle regulation, including inducing menstruation in amenorrhea. The medication also helps manage heavy menstrual bleeding and painful periods by affecting the uterine lining and counteracting estrogen’s effects. For endometriosis, it helps control tissue growth outside the uterus, reducing pain and bleeding. Regestrone can also alleviate PMS symptoms and, under medical guidance, delay menstruation. In some cases, higher doses are used to treat certain types of breast cancer. 

Most side effects are usually mild and temporary. Common ones include headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, vaginal spotting, breast tenderness, mood changes, and weight changes. Contact a doctor if these persist or worsen. Seek immediate medical help for severe symptoms such as sudden severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, jaundice, or sudden vision changes, as these can indicate serious issues like blood clots.
